Applications

Avion Power recommends using Voyager during normal flight operations, emergency self-rescue, and maintenance activities.

Normal flight operations are improved when pilots use Voyager for routine flights. Voyager's 20kW of cranking power yields faster, cooler turbine starts. Hot-start risk is decreased, there's less stress on the starter, and lead-acid battery life is extended. Voyager's 20Ah capacity enables more than 10 turbine starts per charge or it can power a full load of on-board electronics.

Emergency self-rescue is no longer an emergency when pilots have a Voyager on-board. Prepared pilots will retrieve their stowed Voyager, follow their normal start procedures, and take-off in minutes.

Maintenance activities that require an auxiliary power source are simplified and more efficient when technicians enjoy the autonomy and freedom of movement afforded by a Voyager.

A New Start

✓ Contracted by the U.S. Army’s 160th Special Operations Aviation Regiment (Airborne) to develop a more powerful, longer lasting, main aircraft battery.

✓ Our engineers developed the Modular Battery System (MBS) and after extensive testing, the U.S. Army awarded an Air Worthiness Release (AWR) for the 160th Special Operations Aviation Regiment MH-47 Chinook helicopters.

✓ The MBS deployed in combat with 160th SOAR (A) in 2010 and has a successful, on-going track-record with the U.S. Army.

✓ The same Modular Battery System that powers the 160th SOAR’s Chinooks is available in portable form, in the Voyager.

Voyager base charger

The base charger enables users to recharge Voyager from a 110-220V wall outlet. It accepts power anywhere in the world and provides Voyager an optimal charging environment. The Voyager Power Supply will recharge an empty Voyager in about an hour.

Usage of unapproved power supplies may void Voyager’s warranty.
